Ivy Covered Log Studio Button - walkthrough

Hi everyone! It has been a little while since I updated this blog. Of course I am updating the One Button a Week blog every week (do pop over and have a look!), so I am not neglecting things really, I just haven't got that much to say. I'm sure you don't want to read me just writing for the sake of it!

I decided to try a slightly different take on things for this video. Goodness, that wasn't a good idea! Usually, I know what I am filming, do it in quite an organised way, and Mark is able to edit it based a lot of my silences - or simply by me turning of the camera for anything repetitive. Well, not this one. I did not know how this was going to turn out - or what I was filming. So the editing took forever - I had to do it as Mark couldn't remotely figure it out, and I had to narrate afterwards and it just took ages. Not really cost effective by way of time, haha. I hope that you enjoy it though.

Speaking of time, can you believe it is already nearly a month since we were last on Create & Craft? Well, we are back this coming Tuesday (the 26th) and the show will feature Teneriffe Lace. Which hasn't been on your screens for at least a year. I'm looking forward to it and have been making some lace (spoiler alert, there will at least one lace themed video next week to add to the playlist).

Take care of yourselves, thanks for stopping by, and have a great weekend - or week, depending on when you are reading this.

  1. Very cool studio button! I rather think you might use the same filming method again and it won't be quite so drawn out a process. The results are very good. It is fun to get messy once in a while, isn't it?
Tooth work is coming along - the bone material is grafting in nicely and the retainer plate that keeps the existing teeth in place and holds up the gap filling false tooth has been sanded down to a reasonable state of discomfort ( it was very uncomfortable at first, pressing into the gum on both sides). Back in a month to check on the bone!
We are starting to plan - OK, I am starting to plan a trip east to Missouri to tuck Don's brothers ashes in with his dad. Marion passed on in the depths of winter and non of the siblings (three left) could get there. We will meet up in mid-May in Kirksville, do our tucking, and get a little caught up with our respective lives. As you may have surmised it isn't a very close knit family but they do manage to pull together at need. We are driving eat through Utah, Colorado and Kansas - a straight run of five days through some truly spectacular country - mountains of all sizes, forests, awesome rock colors and formations - it is a lot of fun. And then we will come back on a slightly southern route and visit the son and family in Kansas, and friends in New Mexico and Arizona. I am finally finding myself with an interest and enthusiasm for the planning which is half the fun and essential to a good trip. Don just comes along and trades off the driving - I make sure we stop at any military history places and art and history museums - the internet is making it much easier to track places down, even if I can't always find the web place again - I know the place exists and I can find it on a real map!
Next weekend is the needlework exhibit - will give a report when I've seen it. I'm already thinking what to show in two years time!
Do have a good craft show - looking forward to the teneriffe!
Stay warm and safe and well - hugs to all. xxx

  2. Well, I woke up at 3am and realized that I just could not do the trip I outlined - Sister-in-law has not given a date and searching for hotels is a huge challenge, so we are just going to fly to Missouri, drive a little and fly home - much simpler and a whole lot less stressful. And Don says that if she doesn't speak up soon we will plan another time.
    Whew!!!!
Travel safely and have a good show. Don't forget the treats for Master Tobypup - I think he gets cranky without his biscuits! xxx

    1. Oh what a shame that you can't do the trip as planned, although all that driving would have been tiring. I know I'm past the time when sleeping in the car was an option. When we were young, our holidays used to be driving somewhere. If we couldn't get a b&b, we'd sleep in the car. It didn't matter then!! So glad your toothwork is healing as it should. I actually get messy quite a lot, I'm just never sure if that's good for filming or not. I'm still trying to find out what people want to see. :) I'm glad you enjoyed it. Editing did take forever though. Toby will be very well spoilt as usual! There's a lovely walk near a river just by the studios, now the weather is improving a little, it's a great day for him. Although it was cold and foggy when I got up this morning....
Stay safe and well both of you and I do hope the exhibition is a great success! xxxx

    2. Just watched the show - what a cheery chap your presenter is! Looks like you had a good time, sold lots, and did a huge amount of demonstrating - well done everyone! I am sure Toby enjoyed taking Mark for a nice riverside walk. Feet up with a nice beverage, everyone and stay well and safe. xxx

  4. You need to remember to give the book gods their little bit of paper with ink splots and drops of tea at least once a week - they get very cranky otherwise and can really put the kibosh on progress!
Hugs all around. Stay safe and well, all three! xxx
