Of course, that's in between all of the other work that needs doing. I am not sure what the weekend is!

Which reminds me. At work, when we turn on the answer machine on, a woman's voice states the day of the week as part of the message. Well, on a Wednesday, she sounds positively happy, like "yay!", yet on a Friday, she sounds quite blah really. I have come to the conclusion that she is having an affair. And her paramour "works late" on a Wednesday, but on a Friday goes home to their family for the weekend.

My mind works in an odd way sometimes.

Are you all keeping well? We seem to be really busy - we have another two Hochanda shows on the 22nd and that seems to have come round fast! So, organising and planning is keeping us both busy.

And of course, the sun has decided to just about push through - at the springtime angle that makes you really see that the place needs a proper clean. Yes, it's that time of year again where I discuss purging and probably only manage a bit. But, a little every year will surely mean I will, eventually, get rid of all the excess Stuff.

Another snow day... or week!

 

Here we go again! Couldn't get out yesterday and certainly can't today. So, if you are waiting on orders do please rest assured they will get sent the moment we can.

As the forecast was for snow, we left the unit on Friday with boxes of components to pack. Yesterday it was button packs for the journal kits - today I think I will be winding wire for ganutell kits.

We have two shows coming up on Hochanda - on the 25th. We'll have a couple of new kits too, so we have at least got quite a lot to keep us busy. Especially when our phone lines have decided to play up again (they went down a month ago). Don't even get me started on that subject. How a nation is meant to work from home when BT can't be bothered to modernise lines I really don't know. We loose our phone and internet at least twice a year - and sometimes more...

Enough of that! 

I also managed to do a little more writing over the weekend. Not as much as I would have liked, but I am starting to wrestle the thing into some kind of sense I think....

January blues

 

We are nearly there folks... just hold on a little longer...

I have said it before, but January really is my least favourite month. I wish I could pinpoint why. Adding lockdown and quite a few things going wrong has made the month feel like three this year. And, I always find it hard to motivate and create in January. 

But I did manage this button. Challenge - a star with at least 8 points. So I think 9 is quite cool. Hint - to make your own, start with a foundation cross with 9 wraps for 18 spokes...

So, onward and upward - working on a new kit today, and will be filming this weekend. And all the rubbish things that have happened in January can soon be in the past. Why, I even have a shopping delivery booked for the weekend (the first since the middle of December)!

Capsule wardrobe...

 

I do hope you are all keeping well and safe. I've spent a good part of the weekend wrangling my 16th and 17th century button database. Removing duplicates, checking references, that sort of thing. Thoroughly enjoyable, but I have to admit I've spent a little too much time looking, not making! 

The above button was made for a weekly prompt of "Turquiose & White". The pattern is based on a button from the 1640s - with a little added needleworked border. I think that it really works well in modern colours and threads - the original is gold thread and green silk.

I was thinking this morning that with lockdown I really have achieved a capsule wardrobe. It does seem that I am wearing the same clothes recently. Usually in about 3 layers to stay extra warm, and always the most comfortable.  And with a long length coat and no visiting, everyone can think I am super fashionable, lol! 

I don't really think that is the point of a capsule wardrobe though, do you?
