Filming... or not!

Today I've been doing a little bit of filming and editing - getting a new button tutorial ready for YouTube. Turns out that I hadn't turned on the camera for part of the video - so when I turned it off, I was turning it on - and filming an empty table...

We've also decided to start re-filming all of the button DVDs, to make them online content. So many people no longer have DVDs, and to be fair, our equipment is so much better. Not to mention the fact that I've learnt a lot since 2011 (when we released the first DVDs) and now work the odd button in an entirely different way.

But, in between this rather mammoth task, I do want to film the odd little thing for either YouTube, or perhaps other courses. If there's something you'd like to see a video tutorial of, please let me know. I can't guarantee I will be able to do everything on the list, but it would be nice to know what you would like.

Keep safe and well everyone x

  2. What exciting news for us out here! Sorry about the "bang the forehead" moment when you realized you hadn't pushed the right button - I always feel like a complete idiot for a moment, and irritated to have it all to do over again, but the second time will be better because the fingers are all warmed up. And I think it is a lovely idea to be redoing the old DVDs - I have them but haven't yet pinned Don down to help me play them, but I will, and I will look forward to new techniques with the new stuff.
First appointment with the implant dentist this morning - it will take at least seven months and all the vacation money (just as well we can't go anywhere!). I really feel lucky to have good repair work available and be able to use it - decent teeth are so vital to healthy us!
Go have a warm drink and a cuddle, stay warm and well and dry. Charlottexxx

  3. I think your internet stuff may improve soon - Spacex just launched a couple of low level satellites for just that use. Our next door neighbor helped build them - the kid is working long hard hours welding up more! Anyway, Don says it will be a good thing so I'll keep my fingers crossed.
Clearing the decks for our network provider to run in new wires and box and I'm having to shift my entire Hungarian embroidery library - good chance to winnow! Wish me luck :).
Cooky for Toby and hugs for you. C in C xxx

  4. Absolutely spiffy V wrap video - glad to see the stress on the slippery nature of soutache and the need to sit on it firmly!
New satellite dish installed, with jazzy new receiver and control :( I hate having to figure out new stuff - it's the Luddite in me!
Found a mess of stuff I'd forgotten stashed in and around and behind the embroidery things - have to get strong minded - how important can it be if I forgot it was there? Wish me luck!
    Stay warm and well.xxx

    1. Good news about your dish! I hate figuring out new things too. They seem so much more complicated these days than they should be, don't you think? I do hope you have been able to get some tv! I have spent a good part of the weekend clearing as well. Two bags of rubbish and no end of paper shredded again. I really feel the need to purge things.
Our phone are on underground lines. It is a really old box, despite having high speed fibre optics going through the same area - and to the nearest village, what branches off to us is ancient copper cable. One day we'll get high speed, lol!
I do hope that you are both keeping well, and that the Hungarian embroidery library went back into place without too much hassle!
      Stay safe xx

  5. Goodness, that's frustrating! I've happily wittered away about what I'm doing for tens of minutes before realising that I wasn't actually recording, and I became quite grumpy with myself..
